6. Finances.
World federalists have approved up to $ 2,500 for Wisdom Council 2. They would like a report on Wisdom Council 1 (Dan?). They will not sponsor Wisdom Council 3.
Ideas for future funders: VanCity, the Victoria Foundation, the City of Victoria. Doug will ask fundraiser person he knows at Royal Roads for ideas.
- it costs $100 to register as a society – decided to defer this to after Wisdom Council 3.
7. Carrying names over to Wisdom Council 2 to Wisdom Council 3:
- ongoing discussion around randomness, acknowledging the balance between the work we are able to do as a small group and the ethics of being as random as possible.
- when phoners encounter an enthusiastic invitee who is not available to sit on the June Wisdom Council, it is recommended that we harness that person’s energy by inviting him/her to the conveners group.
- it was decided that there will be a fresh random selection process for the October Wisdom Council. All those who felt strongly about this are especially invited to the random selection work party in September ;>).
Next meeting Saturday May 26th, 10 – 12:30 a.m.
